Once again we are reminded by our modern overlords that no straight kids ever get bullied. Ever. We only have to worry about those poor wee queers who can’t handle the pressure. And woe betide anyone who tries to say differently:

“Will this project reduce bullying? Not likely,” Gordon World, Burnaby Parents’ Voice member, told Burnaby Now. “They claim this sends a positive social message of acceptance of self and others. Not for overweight kids, anorexic kids or those who don’t dance well. Not those who resist their school’s promotion of Lady Gaga’s sex sells worldview.”

But MacCorkindale Elementary School principal Darren Mitzel, one of the projects co-creators, said the message of the project was accepting everyone for who they are, regardless of gender, race, religion or disability.

“It’s important that we need to teach this kind of being able to accept people for who they are no matter what in schools and also as adults in life,” Mitzel said.

As for the criticism from Parents’ Voice, Mitzel said: “Everyone has a right to their own opinion and we respect that.”

It’s kinda like global warming: We’re entitled to our opinion, right up until we aren’t. Either we completely swallow the idea that only gay kids get bullied, or we’re evil homophobes.

Tell that to every straight kid that ever got beat up in the school yard. Every straight kid who ever had his/her locker vandalized. Every straight kid that was ever teased for being fat or nerdy. Tell that to ME, motherfuckers. I dare you.

Better yet, tell it to TJ Lane, who walked into a school the other day and started killing people because of all the abuse he’d taken at their hands. No one’s going to wear a goddam pink shirt for TJ Lane, I assure you.

Bullied gay kids kill themselves. Bullied straight kids kill your kids. Which is the greater problem?
