Some years back, I wrote a very, very controversial post about Canada’s Native communities. I referred to incest and sexual abuse of Native children, and I was ripped to shreds by the left, the apologists and by some Natives (the only ones I really cared to hear from on the subject). Vilified. Belittled. Hated.
According to some estimates, the level of abuse in aboriginal communities is staggering.
“Sexual violence and sexual abuse in Aboriginal communities affect 75 to 80 per cent of our girls and women,” said social worker Sylvia Maracle, from the Ontario Federation of Friendship Centres.
Among non-aboriginal girls and women the rate is closer to 20 per cent.
You can hate me all you want. You can rail at me, and even blame me for the problem. Or, instead, you can call it what it is and start addressing it at the source.
I didn’t molest and rape Native children. Other Natives did that. But I’m just that much easier to hate, aren’t I?

Even 20% is surprising. Is this for the whole population or the areas around reserves ?
Only those with a vested interest in maintaining the “status quo” would take issue with the messenger. Prove me wrong if you can…or would that expose you as a perpetrator of, or an advocate for the sexual abuse of children?
Whenever I have made a comment on an article that discusses a homosexual story and mention that homosexuals have as many human frailties in regard to theft, robbery or other vices that go against the consent of others. In other words, not related to homosexuality. I am called every name in the book by many that have no connection to homosexuality. According to them a homosexual is as pure as the driven snow. I think you are coming into the “Noble Savage Myth” syndrome. Natives are perfect and examples of purity to the world. How dare you say they have feet of clay; made of the purest gold they are. Just remember, stupid is as stupid does and their attacks are only an example of modern stupidity in action. Not that it is any fun to put up with but, you’re still right. I’d buy you a drink and toast you to keep on keeping on if possible.
Most of the girls rescued by Human Trafficking watchdogs are from the Native communities. From being abused within their own homes and by members of their own extended families, it’s the natural next step on the road to nowhere for these girls to either get into prostitution or be willing slaves in the sex trade.
Bad habits, just like good ones, begin at home. There are too many bad habits within the Native communities and the pandering from the human rights groups and leftish groups make it easy the bad habits to mature into criminal offenses.
Scrap the reserves, jail all corrupt millionaire chiefs, integrate the natives with the rest of society, and save billions of dollars in the process.
I wish you linked to this original post.
And yes, the state of many Aboriginal communities in Canada is deplorable.
I wonder… you did mention and explain why this was the case? Because of British, and French colonialists, Britain, and Canada repeated abuse, rape, murder and subjugation of their people.
It’s important to discuss this, and not having seen the original post, I can only hope you put in some mentioning of the root causes.
