I called it

There was a stabbing in Little Jamaica this weekend. I called it.

No, I don’t mean I called it because it was something unlikely that I saw potential for; I called it because everyone knew it was going to happen, and nobody was willing to say it, because that would be raaaaacist.

You see, what this and other articles fail to mention is that Saturday was an “International Festival,” read: Jamaican, on Eglinton West. My bus in and out of my particular ghetto was rerouted to accommodate the vast amounts of fried chicken and Red Stripe that would be consumed. I described it to my friends as “a festival of crack and violence, one step below Caribana (where there were shootings – again).”

Can someone please explain to me why this is a culture that should be repeatedly celebrated at a cost to taxpayers, when in the end, there’s an inevitable body count?

Oh good! The left will leave the Catholic Church alone!

I don’t think they were celebrating the violence and other stereotypes that you seem a little too easy to sling these days. It’s a celebration of the culture. And just like ALL cultures, when there is alcohol and hot-headed idiots, there will be fighting and violence.

I understand how you don’t feel comfortable around it but, putting up a glaringly ignorant post doesn’t change that.
