Toronto’s huge festival of crack and violence – aka Caribana, or whateverthefuck it’s called these days, since it can’t seem to keep sponsors, due to the associated violence – leads to shootings almost every year. Caribana is to black violence what Hajj used to be to trampled Muslims before the Saudis got smart about traffic control.

Toronto has a large black population, predominately from the Islands. Where you don’t get a lot of trouble out of the Bajans or even the Trinnies, the fucking Jamaicans are a handful. Remember, we’re talking about a country with the highest murder rate in the world. So holding a festival at which they are the overwhelming majority must be a sonofabitch to insure.

This year, of course, was no different:

One person has died and two others were injured Saturday, when gunfire broke out along the Caribbean Carnival parade route in Toronto, police said.

Police also confirmed that the Special Investigations Unit has been notified and is taking over the investigation. The SIU, an arm’s-length agency, is called in following incidents in which police are somehow involved in a serious injury or death.

EMS officials said two people — one male, one female — suffered multiple gunshot wounds, while the third victim was injured in the eye during the shooting on the Caribbean festival parade route outside Ontario Place.

The third victim is considered to be a bystander whose eyebrow was grazed by a stray bullet, paramedics said. The other two victims were rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

SIU have to investigate because it looks like a cop killed a guy. The left will cry raaaaacism, no doubt, but how did the handgun get to the festival in the first place? Why is there gunplay every goddam year at this thing? And most importantly, why does the City of Toronto keep granting a permit for this shooting-fish-in-a-barrel debacle?

As many have stated in the comments on that CBC report: This doesn’t happen at Pride.

Well, I guess the lack of clothing makes concealment tough, but it’s more than that. We’re just not allowed to talk about it.
