From the very first time I heard her voice – so unusual for a little white British Jew – I said she was the new Billie Holliday. Today, that became true in every way. Amy Winehouse was found dead in her London flat at 27.
It was inevitable that this day would come. Everyone knew it. It was a joke, a bet, whatever. But still, to have such incredible talent snuffed out, and only two albums out there to sate the masses… Tragic.
I hope her family – her poor dad – finds some peace and anonymity now.
