One of Baroness Margaret Thatcher’s famous handbags is going on the auction block at Christie’s on June 27.
Oh Mags, how you shaped my life. I was a little kid when Reagan took office, and I adored him. But he couldn’t be much of a role model for a little girl playing dress-up. There was always Nancy, of course, but she was the wife. Not the same. Besides, red doesn’t really suit me.
The along came Maggie with her pearls and her handbags. To this day you’ll see me clipping along in my heels, handbag slung over my right arm, pink pearls at my throat.
