Darling minions of RightGirl, can you answer a question for me? Islamic women wear hijab to hide their modesty, right? Lately, I have been seeing hijab on ever-younger little girls – 5 or 6 years old. It was my understanding that preserving one’s modesty was reserved for post-pubescent girls, as they were now considered “women.”
Was my original understanding wrong, or are we just putting soooo many hormones in halal goat these days that little girls of 5 or 6 are now considered marrigeable?

When you hear about young girls dying from internal bleeding caused by intercourse with their adult husbands, then there is little doubt why a culture which sexualizes children would put them in hijabs. Mohammad was a pig, and so is any man who has sex with an under age girl.
Correct ME if I am wrong, but per the Hadith…the shining example of Muhammed, that is…weren’t 6-year olds ALREADY considered “marriageable” in the Religion of Reese’s Pieces?
I beleive by Muhammad’s standards, marriage is good to go if you’re at least 6 years old. A mature 6 of course. But you can’t consummate the union until at least puberty hits. But really, who waits?

Something else that Islam considers perfectly acceptable is rape as an interrogation technique. kill a virgin, women prisoners sentenced to death are first wed to (read: raped by) a prison guard. I lived in the Middle East for five years and you are right Wendy. Only post-pubescent girls would wear a head covering and then only if they choose to do so. There is no requirement in the Koran to cover the hair – only to be modest. A full hijab (full cover)was only worn in the areas I lived if something revealing and sexy was worn underneath (and sometimes not even then).
I’ll agree with Larry, I didn’t live in the Middle East, but in Brooklyn, (which in some sectors is quite similar) and I can remember the little girls running around pretty much free, and then one day…scarf and endless chores. I think it also has to do with whatever strain of the mad belief they adhere to.
I do know, that underneath it all, can be a different story. I got a glimpse under the big top a couple of times
