Have a wonderful weekend, America. Monday you need to get back to work declaring your independence from your tyrannical overlords in Washington – before it’s too late.

I know this will show my utter ignorance of Canadian history, but do you all have a day you celebrate that is similar to July 4?
I mean we help the Mexicans celebrate Cinco de Mayo, which may or may not actually be Mexican Independence Day – but it is a good time to eat, drink and be merry – south of the border style.
I hate to think we are passing up an opportunity to eat barbecued moose, and drink Labatts beer.
Silly girl! Ours was 3 days ago, on July 1. Canada Day, formerly known as Dominion Day. It is pretty much the opposite of Independence Day – it’s the day we came together as a country and declared… nothing. We would still have the Queen on our money.
As for Labatts… you need a gut of iron to drink that. Though we have some lovely smaller beers.

Happy 4th…if we survive.
Also…Wendy, if you can spare the time check oput a great and growing group who you fit with well….smartgirlpolitics.ning.com
Conservative females across the country are fed up….
Thank you Rodger. I am already a member of SGP.
Cinco de Mayo is not in fact the celebration of Mexican Independence, its the celebration of a battle they won. (one of the very few, thus the celebration)
They out fought the… French… (Who Hasn’t?) Still, it is another excuse to get blotto and drive on freeways.
Thanks for the Wishes Wendy, coming from North of the border, that’s something.

Indeed. Independence Day is a celebration of freedom from tyranny. The precise tyranny that now is pervasive in Washington, culminating recently in the Obamanation.
