Listened in on a great radio show last night. Dr. Melissa Clouthier’s The Right Doctor over on RFC Radio had Matthew K. Tabor on to discuss the education system in the US. No Child Left Behind, the power of teachers’ unions, teaching to the test, homeschooling, special needs kids and more. It was a brilliant hour of talk radio, and I don’t even have a dog in the fight.

And yeah, if a few things sound familiar to you, it’s because Melissa and I share a producer. The great Mike Williams. (but don’t tell him how great he is, because he gets diva-y sometimes)

Mike Williams = King Pimp MacDaddy. Look at his stable and swoon.

“Since the No Child Left Behind Act was enacted, critics have questioned whether the law’s mandate to bring students to “proficiency” has resulted in schools ignoring the needs of the nation’s highest- and lowest-achieving students.
A new study, released today, suggests those fears have not become reality.”
