Where are the practical applications of stem cell so far. Anyone know? I’m not saying there are none nor am I saying there is no potential for them but for all the noise about stem cell research I was expecting to be able to grow an extra set of arms by now. I need at least that many. I even bought an extra keyboard in anticipation.

I believe that a Canadian team has announced a further advance just this week. Whereas the British and Japanese procedures relied on viruses to transmit the gene muatations, the Canadian group uses “jump genes” from fast-adapting moths. (I’m no scientist, but it just came out this week.)
