The problem is a confusion of premise. People mistakenly imagine that a marriage in Islam is anything like a marriage as we in the west know it. A Muslim marriage is much closer often to buying a goat. The women has no say in the matter and faces slaughter should she object in many cases. So of course advice on how to control your livestock is as we hear in that lecture. Islam is very good at using terms that make us imagine something safe and familiar to us when in reality its dark and horrifying. Anyone who has not done so, please consider reading Ayaan Hirsi Alli's most excellent book, Infidel. It will clarify these terms for you nicely. This should come as a surprise to no one.
