We got a bigscreen!!!!

Proof positive that I'm a dumbass, my family and I arose at 3:45am and headed to Walmart. When we got there at 4:30 there were already over 500 people inside I'd venture to guess. We got in a line (one of two at the time, eventually morphing into four) that snaked toward the electronics section. It did not move until sometime after five. As we s l o w l y made our way toward that department my daughter, who had been asigned to sheets and towels, made her way back to us with only four or five white towels in hand. The sheets were long gone... cleaned out long before the supposed 5AM sale start. But the big news she had was that the TV's weren't in the electronics section at all, but back in the back far corner of the store. Wife and daughter headed off in that direction and left me in line, just in case. Soon my phone rang with the news that my wife had gotten there in time to secure the LAST bigscreen television in the store.

After the hassle of paying for it and all, we got the hell out of Walmart! Next year I'll leave it to someone else.

Frankly, a first grader probably could have done a better job of planning than Walmart did in running the Black Friday Sale. It was a pathetic madhouse, and for no good reason at all. I understand well how the tragidy in New York probably occured. Cheap cheap prices + hundreds of dumbasses = major major problems.

But I just finished watching my first ballgame on my first bigscreen television, and how I've lived this long without it... Didn't get the camera didn't get the DVD player, didn't get the sheets, got motel white towels... but I'd bet there will be another time and another place for all that.

Now what I need is a nap.

People are out of their ever-lovin' minds to be out on a day like this - and how in the hell did THIS particular day become "black Friday" anyway? I keep my happy butt at HOME every year. I wouldn't be caught out in that crap for anything. And are people REALLY getting any sort of deal today, doubtful.
