It is hard to say, for the moment, how far the country can be driven to the left in a time of economic troubles. There may be practical constraints on schemes like driving up energy costs, and there are apt to be pressures which will require military solutions before too long. There were some important issues which were pretty much skirted gingerly around in this painfully extended election season, but McCain was hardly the first choice of lots of people.

I remember being stunned by a pastor talking respectfully about President Clinton once. She believed the office itself merited dignified treatment, and explained that she understood that authority came from God. I respected her for this.

I guess I'll have to try and follow a good example now. For now, a good night's sleep should help.

Well there is no question that the US has reached a historic milestone if Obama wins the presidency.
The troubling part is that he is in all respects a re distributionist socialist or worse yet a closet communist.

Wendy,
Thanks for all you did during this campaign. I've enjoyed my visits to your site, and I plan on coming back here often.

Your right of course about the next four years, the last four or five have been a dousy! I too feel for Bush and family. I've yet to see what the fuss was actually about (other than sour grapes). I mean, even the talk about the economy has been borderline absurd - a story about the S&P 500 just today mentions it being down from its all time high which was just last year! And Obama as a threat to our constitution is far higher than Bush ever was, at least judging from the Obama camps actions during the campaign, so keep a close eye out, or some of us bloggers might just not be here next time around...

Thanks,
Al
